In October, 2010, the Chorale explored the rich choral repertoire from the Scandinavian and Baltic countries in a program entitled Northern Lights. In October, 2011, we bring you another program from this marvelous repertoire, ranging from the Baroque era to recent times.

All is Still

Saturday, December 17, 2011, 3:00 PM, St. John’s Episcopal Church, Johnson City, TN

From Gregorian chant and Renaissance motets to more recent music of Morton Lauridsen, Ned Rorem, and our region's own Evelyn Pursley-Kopitzke, we present choral compositions for the season. The second half of the program is comprised of a variety of carol settings from around the world.

Messiah Sing

Everybody in the region is invited to bring their score and join in singing this masterful oratorio. No audience today; we’ll all be the singers! Not only will it be fun, but it will benefit others: proceeds are directed to Second Harvest Food Bank.

TCC Concert

The initials of The Civic Chorale are also the initials of the three composers represented in this concert: Randal Thompson, Kenton Coe, and Aaron Copland. Sacred and secular, folk song and serious composition, accompanied, a capella and polychoral, we experience a range of choral textures from these twentieth-century American composers.

Mass of the Children

Sunday, April 28, 2012, 4:00 PM, Toy F. Reid Auditorium, Kingsport, TN

We join forces with the East Tennessee Children's Choir to present John Rutter's Mass of the Children. In addition, each choir will be showcased in selections sung on its own. Tickets are required for this concert, and may be purchased at the door.
