Auditions
The Civic Chorale typically prepares for three or four concerts during the season - Fall, Christmas, and Spring. Weekly rehearsal begin in late August and continue through the Spring concert in May with one month break for Christmas.
Rehearsals take place every Thursday evening from 7:00 PM-9:00 PM at Munsey Memorial United Methodist Church in Johnson City. An additional dress rehearsal is usually scheduled during the week of performances. All singers are expected to participate in a minimum number of rehearsals for each concert. Although our membership consists entirely of volunteers and there is an air of fun and fellowship, our primary focus during rehearsal is preparation of the music with an intent to perform at our full potential. Rehearsal tapes for each concert are provided to members upon request to aid individual preparation

Auditions are 10-15 minutes and consist of two principle elements:
1) Candidates will sing My Country 'Tis of Thee in a variety of keys, and without accompaniment, in order to establish range, and assess intonation and tone quality.
2) Candidates will demonstrate basic musical skill/knowledge through sight reading and notational exercises.
